The dimmers only take a polarized 2 prong plug. The lamps I bought have a 3 prong plug.

nice lamp

Dimmer feature is nice with appropriate bulb. Bulb that comes with lamp could not be adjusted ( brightness). Ordered the bulb recommended and it works great.
